FBS Broadcasts "Mirai no Agri Star": Local Community Smiles with Japanese Honeybees Raised by High School Students — Karatsu Honeybee Project, A Record of Graduation and Succession

The "Karatsu Honeybee Project," supported by NPO Karatsu Farm&Food (Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture, Representative Director: Nozomi Hamaguchi), was broadcast on Fukuoka Broadcasting (FBS)'s agricultural support program "Mirai no Agri Star" from 11:23 AM to 11:30 AM on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

On the day of the coverage (March 14, 2026), two graduates from Karatsu Minami High School, who graduated this spring, gathered with two of their juniors at Yokomakura Farm in Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture. The juniors served honey pudding, handmade using honey from Japanese honeybees raised by the graduates, to four local residents. The smiles on the faces of the residents saying "Delicious!" spoke volumes.

Broadcast on FBS—A Local Story Reaches Kyushu On April 7, 2026, the initiatives of the Karatsu Honeybee Project were broadcast on Fukuoka Broadcasting (FBS)'s "Mirai no Agri Star." The activities of high school students and the community in Saga-Karatsu working together to raise Japanese honeybees reached viewers across Kyushu.

For the Words "Delicious!" The honey from Japanese honeybees carefully raised by the graduates. The juniors diligently handmade honey pudding using this honey. The moment it was served to four local residents, spontaneous cries of "Delicious!" arose.

A powerful message was also received from the head of the Yokomakura district: "We must protect the nature of Yokomakura." This single comment from a local representative proves that the high school students' activities are deeply rooted in the community.
