Background and Overview of the Survey

In Japan, many people suffer from poor sleep quality due to insomnia, which has become a serious social problem.

In response, KAPOK JAPAN Co., Ltd., a lifestyle brand developer, focused on 'What kind of bedding do people with 'severe sleep issues' choose?' and conducted an in-house survey targeting 100 men and women aged 30 to 50 with 'severe sleep issues', selected from 1,000 pre-screened individuals, on 'Awareness of Sleep Issues and Bedding'. The results revealed an interesting gap in bedding selection.

Survey Results Summary

There were characteristics in the bedding choices of those with 'severe sleep issues'.
It was found that only 7% were conscious of 'prioritizing lightness/weight' when considering a purchase. The most important factor was functionality to improve sleep quality, but 'lightness/weight' accounted for the lowest percentage at 7%. This suggests that many people may not be fully considering 'the optimal weight' to solve their own sleep problems.
