The "Kaorihaku" event, which originated in Ginza and Kyoto in 2024, expands to Kamakura in 2026, offering new opportunities to engage with traditional Japanese fragrance culture. The event runs from April 18 (Incense Day) to May 17, 2026, across Ginza, Kyoto, and Kamakura. New participants in Kamakura include Kito Tenkundo and temples such as Gotaido Myooin and Jochiji. The program includes five types of workshops, totaling 11 sessions in Kamakura, where participants can create scented pouches and incense, and experience rare incense woods like Kyara, Jinkoh, and Byakudan. A stamp rally across participating venues offers special incense as a prize for collecting three stamps. The Kamakura location uniquely offers fragrance experiences within historical temple settings, combined with Goma rituals and Zen meditation. The event aims to provide opportunities to engage with Japanese culture through fragrance. Official website: https://kaorihaku.com.
