'Kaori Haku', an event where you can experience Japanese incense culture, will be held for about a month from Saturday, April 18 (Incense Day) to Sunday, May 17, 2026. For its 3rd iteration this year, the Kamakura area has been newly added, expanding the event across three areas: Ginza, Kyoto, and Kamakura. In addition to the organizers—Kyukyodo, Shoyeido, and Nippon Kodo—Muji Ginza and Muji Kyoto BAL will also participate again this year. Furthermore, Kitotenkundo will participate for the first time in the Kamakura area. The theme for 2026 is 'Where Scents Meet Tomorrow'. Today, as AI and digital technologies advance and the forms of daily life and communication continue to change, 'scent' as an experience felt through the five senses is garnering renewed attention. 'Kaori Haku' is a cultural event that allows visitors to experience the incense culture that has been passed down in Japan since ancient times through a stamp rally visiting incense shops, workshops such as Kodo (incense ceremony) experiences and making scented sachets, special exhibitions at each store, and the sale of Kaori Haku exclusive incense. At the venues, through the four experiences of 'touring', 'listening to', 'making', and 'enjoying' scents, visitors can savor the relaxing time and the sensation of restoring mind and body brought about by fragrances.
