"Osaka-Kansai Expo" China Pavilion Wall Panel with Analects Quote Installed at Kansai International Airport

Kansai Airports Co., Ltd. announces that an exterior panel from the China Pavilion of "Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai" has been installed at Kansai International Airport.

The "Expo Legacy Project" is a project that aims to convey the cultures, values, and messages regarding sustainability from various countries, which were disseminated at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, through the airport even after the Expo.

The China Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, with the theme "Building a Community Living in Harmony with Nature - Future Society of Green Development," showcased numerous exhibits expressing Chinese culture that originates from, adapts to, and lives in harmony with nature, presented with magnificent direction and the latest technology. One of the attractive features of the China Pavilion was its distinctive exterior, where the wall, designed like a scroll made of ancient bamboo slips, was adorned with various phrases in Chinese calligraphy. Among these, an exterior panel inscribed with a famous Analects quote well-known in Japan, "Is it not delightful to have friends coming from distant quarters?" (有朋自遠方来 不亦楽乎), was donated to Kansai International Airport by the China Pavilion and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade as a testament to the exchange between the two countries facilitated by the Expo.

China and the Osaka-Kansai region have fostered deep relationships across various fields such as economy, culture, and academia. Kansai International Airport has, for many years, welcomed numerous visitors from China, serving as a gateway for exchange, precisely as expressed by this Analects quote. By displaying this symbol of friendship born on the international stage of the Expo at the airport, Kansai Airports hopes that both domestic and international visitors to the airport will feel the story of exchange nurtured at the Expo, conveying a message of welcome from the entire Osaka-Kansai region to visitors from China.

To commemorate this installation, a ceremony was held at Kansai International Airport, inviting stakeholders who promote exchange between the two countries.
