Kansai Airports Co., Ltd. announced that the renovation work for Kansai International Airport Terminal 2 (Domestic) has been completed and the new area reopened on April 1, 2026 (Wednesday). On the day, a tape-cutting ceremony was held by our Representative Director and President CEO Yoshiyuki Yamaya, Representative Director and Vice President Co-CEO Benoît Rulleau, and other Kansai International Airport officials.

The renovation work was carried out to cope with the further expansion of future air travel demand. The work is being carried out in stages, and sections that have been completed are being put into service sequentially. The newly renovated Terminal 2 domestic area has improved the efficiency of passenger flow from check-in to security screening, including the introduction of automatic baggage drop-off machines and smart lanes, thereby alleviating congestion. Furthermore, the boarding waiting area after security screening has been expanded by approximately 20 percent, and charging facilities have been enhanced, and a food court consisting of 4 stores has been newly developed, creating an environment where passengers can make more effective use of their time before departure. The Kansai Airports Group will continue to collaborate with all stakeholders to create new travel experiences as a gateway to the Kansai region. Security checkpoint
