The Minamisatsuma City Tourism Association supports April Dream, a day to share dreams on April 1st. This press release is a dream for "Minamisatsuma."

■Our Dream: To make Minamisatsuma the city where the most 'challenges' are born in Japan

Minamisatsuma City, Kagoshima Prefecture. In this place, rich in nature and traditional shochu culture, we have created a hub: the "Minamisatsuma Co-creation Lab." Our dream is for this place not to remain merely a workspace (co-working space), but to become a "Professional Lab" where challengers from all walks of life—regardless of age, occupation, or place of residence—mix and continuously create new, unprecedented value.

■Daytime: 'Creation' Workshops, Nighttime: 'Dialogue' Tastings

In this lab, creative energy overflows daily.

"Co-creation workshops" are held where local young entrepreneurs, urban creators, and government officials gather around a table to brainstorm ideas for solving regional issues.

As night falls, genuine conversations begin in a relaxed atmosphere while savoring "authentic shochu," a local specialty, in tasting glasses. The scene where new business seeds sprout from a single glass of shochu becomes commonplace.

■Why is 'mixing' necessary?

In today's rapidly changing world, there are fewer and fewer problems that can be solved by a single specialization or a single region alone. Farmers and engineers, students and business owners, local residents and travelers. We believe that unimaginable innovation occurs precisely at the moment when "different entities" mix.

In a few years, projects born from this lab will support Minamisatsuma City's new industries, and young people will return, saying, "I want to take on challenges in this city." This is the future we envision.
