Tour Highlights
This tour offers special guided tours of valuable residences that are normally completely private, with explanations from owners or administrators.
Inagaki Residence (Agaki, Inabe City): A magnificent mansion that prospered as a sake brewery during the Meiji era. You will tour the 'Manbo' water channel, still in use today, and two meticulously maintained gardens, guided personally by Mr. Inagaki.
Oyama no Ie Kato Residence (formerly Shigemori Residence): A residence from the late Edo period, currently undergoing restoration using traditional methods. You will view the internal structure that reflects the transition from Meiji to Showa eras and enjoy matcha in a restored space.
Lunch at Onoue Villa: A historic restaurant converted from the home of Meiji-era notable Kensuke Kosuga. Enjoy exquisite modern French cuisine while admiring the vast gardens.
