Kanda University of International Studies Announces New President
—President Shingo Ashizawa to assume office on April 1, 2026—

Sano Gakuen Educational Foundation is pleased to announce that Professor Shingo Ashizawa has been appointed as the President of Kanda University of International Studies, effective April 1, 2026 (Wednesday). The new President Ashizawa was selected as the next president in January 2026 and has now officially assumed the position. His term will be for four years, from April 1, 2026 (Wednesday) to March 31, 2030 (Saturday).

## Message from the New President

I am Shingo Ashizawa, and I have just assumed the position of President of Kanda University of International Studies.

Under the founding philosophy that "Language is the cornerstone of peace connecting the world," our university has been committed to fostering individuals who contribute to intercultural understanding and the international community, based on language education. In an era where international affairs are becoming increasingly complex and conflicts are ceaseless, the importance of understanding and empathizing with others through dialogue is growing ever greater. Furthermore, the world is currently seeing an expansion of a "skill-focused" employment environment, and the abilities and skills demanded by society are continuously changing significantly. In such times, what is crucial is not the acquisition of temporary knowledge or skills, but the ability to continue learning, adapt to change, and keep learning throughout one's life.

Kanda University of International Studies fosters the ability to learn continuously throughout life through an educational environment that supports each student's proactive learning and diverse opportunities for international exchange. Moving forward, we will further develop our strengths in meticulous learning support and international education, striving to enrich education that expands students' potential.
