Kamakura International FC held the "New Shonan Sports Festa by Innovation Gateway Shonan RC 2026" at Goldcrest Stadium Kamakura on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
This tournament, sponsored by Innovation Gateway Shonan Rotary Club, was held with the aim of fostering next-generation exchange between Fujisawa and Kamakura, and interaction between children and their guardians, by bringing together soccer teams from Fujisawa City and Kamakura City.
Teams in the U-8 (elementary school second grade and younger) category participated on the day, making it a day where cross-regional connections were formed through exchange soccer matches and games with mixed teams.
This tournament was planned in collaboration with the Innovation Gateway Shonan Rotary Club and Kamakura International FC, with the aim of nurturing next-generation leaders who will be responsible for future town development in the Fujisawa and Kamakura areas.
Through sports, we aim to create opportunities for exchange that transcend municipal boundaries and for children and guardians to interact, thereby fostering the foundation of future local communities.
As the first phase of this project, a mixed soccer tournament and exchange program for Fujisawa and Kamakura were held, creating a "place for children and adults from Fujisawa and Kamakura to connect across regions."
In addition to matches between teams from the same club, an exchange league with mixed teams was held, providing an opportunity for children who usually play for different clubs to play together on the same team.
On Friday, February 27, the day before the tournament, a sportsmanship workshop was held online.
The workshop targeted coaches, guardians, and players of participating teams, sharing ideas on how children can grow through sports, how to create a supportive environment, and the importance of sportsmanship.
This workshop was conducted by a certified professional from the Japan Sportsmanship Association (JSA) and was held in a lecture format where participants thought together through quizzes and discussions (approximately 1 hour).
Participants commented:
"I want to be conscious of being a sportsman = someone trusted by others (Good Fellow) in my daily life."
"I want to build a team with determination with friends who share the same goal."
On the day of the tournament, a total of 9 teams participated: 4 from Fujisawa City and 5 from Kamakura City.
In the exchange league, each team played with their usual teammates, while in the mixed league, teams were formed across club boundaries.
Although there was some initial tension, as the games progressed, participants relaxed and it was impressive to see them playing while calling out to each other.
Furthermore, interactions between guardians also emerged at the venue, making it a day where regional connections expanded through sports.

Kamakura International FC (nicknamed Kamakura Intel) was established in January 2018 with the aim of internationalizing Japan through soccer, which has the largest number of players and spectators among sports worldwide. This season, they are competing in the Kanagawa Prefectural Adult Soccer League Division 1, building strength, and looking towards joining the J-League in the near future. Their vision is "CLUB WITHOUT BORDERS." They aim to create a soccer club with no "BORDERS" in anything, including race, religion, gender, and age. At the same time, they will develop players and personnel who can succeed overseas, producing global talent from Kamakura.
**About Kamakura Intel's Stadiums**
**[Closed] Minna no Hato Sabure Stadium (nicknamed Hato Sta)**
Location: 634-1 Kajiwara, Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture 247-0063
Built in 2021, "Hato Sta" recorded over 500 spectators for official club matches, and the "Hato Sta Festival" held in August 2024 attracted over 5,600 participants, an unprecedented scale for a Kanagawa Prefectural Division 1 league, serving as a place to connect local people.
Kamakura Intel's activities extended beyond being just a soccer club. They actively participated in the community by utilizing their home stadium as a place to nurture children through soccer schools and cheer dance schools, and as a place for seniors to connect and maintain their health through ground golf and health exercise classes. In 2024, they also joined the "Muraoka-Fukasawa Health Innovation Social Implementation Consortium," actively cooperating with Kamakura City administration by conducting activities for well-being town development starting from the stadium.
**[Open since January 2025] Goldcrest Stadium Kamakura (nicknamed Cresta)**
Location: 3-8-43 Dai, Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture 247-0061
After Hato Sta regrettably closed in September 2024, "Cresta" grand opened on January 25, 2025. In a crowdfunding campaign conducted in the summer of 2024, many people, including local residents who used "Hato Sta" and companies that supported Kamakura Intel's activities, provided support, raising over 100 million yen, exceeding the target amount, and leading to the birth of a second stadium.
At Cresta, improvements based on the operational experience at Hato Sta were realized, such as expanding spectator areas, adding changing rooms and women's restrooms, and completely re-laying the artificial turf to ensure a safer sports environment. It has been utilized as a new place to connect people of all ages and genders in the community.
