■ Background: Towards the "Important Challenge" of Expanding Collection from General Households
Kakuyasu began its used cooking oil collection service for stores and restaurants in June 2024, and as of March 2026, the cumulative collection volume has exceeded 600 tons, showing steady growth. On the other hand, we recognize that "expanding collection from general households" is an extremely important challenge for further promoting resource recycling.
Hitomile and Kakuyasu are participating in the "FRY to FLY Project," which aims to manufacture and disseminate Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) from used cooking oil, to solve these challenges.
As part of this initiative, we produced a collaboration video with Mr. Bayashi, who has high influence both domestically and internationally, with the aim of gaining understanding and cooperation from more people regarding the recycling of used cooking oil. This video was filmed at the SAFFAIRE SKY ENERGY plant with the cooperation of companies participating in the "FRY to FLY Project."
Through this video, we will make the recycling of used cooking oil feel more familiar to more people and further strengthen our efforts to promote collection.
