Kakugo Inc. (Headquarters: Takahama City, Aichi Prefecture) provides management improvement support centered on 'systemization' for small and medium-sized manufacturing companies from various perspectives such as human resources, buildings, and on-site operations.
To commemorate the completion of our new office building, we held a lecture and social gathering for the entire holding group.

In this lecture, we invited neurosurgeon Dr. Yoko Kato to speak on the theme of "How to Build a God-like Mentality."
Additionally, during the office tour, we explained how we link and execute the 'way of working' and the 'place (office/factory)' in a company.

In recent years, the way companies work is changing significantly due to the promotion of DX and changes in organizational structure.
On the other hand, we often see cases where the 'place' and 'individual's state' have not caught up with these changes.

For example,
・Although a free-address system was introduced, it has effectively become fixed seating.
・Cross-departmental collaboration is required, but they are physically separated.
・Systems and mechanisms are in place, but they are not functioning on-site.
・Individuals' conditions are not optimal, and they are not able to perform at their best.

We believe that the overlap of these multiple 'gaps,' such as 'way of working,' 'place,' and 'individual's thoughts,' creates organizational stagnation and inefficiency.

Even if you change the way you work, if the place and people don't catch up, the organization won't move.
We believe that transformation only functions when the system and reality align, and employees' awareness is synchronized.

■ Kakugo's Practice | Designing the New Office from the 'Way of Working'

Our company also faced similar issues in our old office.

As we shifted to a system of providing services across departments within a design that was separated by department,
it became difficult to consult and collaborate, and forcing everyone onto one floor also created a lack of space.

"The way we work is changing, but the place hasn't caught up."
This gap was constraining the organization's movement.

Therefore, in this new office, we redesigned based on the idea of 'designing the place to fit the way of working.'

・Introduction of a free-address system and operational design to make it function.
・A layout that promotes cross-team communication.
・Space design for specific purposes such as meetings, concentration, and breaks.

It is not just an equipment update, but a design based on the premise that 'the way of working will change.'
