The protagonist, who died of overwork in their past life due to their father's debts, awakens in a dilapidated seaside shack—and discovers they have been possessed into Haley, a minor character from a novel.

Just as Haley resolves to become independent and survive in this new world, they rescue Baron, a mysterious boy about to be kidnapped. Haley dedicates themselves to raising the orphaned boy, only to learn that Baron is actually Broden, the novel's male protagonist, now in a child's form.

Unaware of his true identity, Haley cares for him wholeheartedly, while Baron gradually develops deep feelings upon experiencing her warmth.
