Kagome Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Harunobu Okutani, Headquarters: Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, hereinafter "Kagome") held a tour for ANA Group employees on June 20, 2026 (Sat.) at Hibikinada Farm, Kagome's fresh tomato cultivation base, as part of the "Promote Vegetable Intake Project," a collaborative initiative involving various companies and organizations. This tour aims to promote understanding of vegetables and improve awareness of vegetable intake through on-site agricultural production tours and experiences related to local cuisine. Kagome and the ANA Group will combine their expertise in their respective business areas to jointly promote initiatives to increase vegetable consumption.
1. Event Overview
This tour was conducted as part of the activities of the "Promote Vegetable Intake Project," in which multiple companies, including All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd. (ANA), participate. On the day of the event, a total of 15 ANA Group employees and their families visited Hibikinada Farm (Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture), a fresh tomato cultivation base of the Kagome Group.
Through farm tours and lectures on vegetable intake, participants deepened their understanding of tomato cultivation methods and the ingenuity of the production site, while also learning about the appeal and value of vegetables. After the tour, they also stopped by "Michi-no-Eki Munakata" (Munakata City, Fukuoka Prefecture) to provide an opportunity to experience agricultural products such as various vegetables from Fukuoka Prefecture.
2. About Hibikinada Farm
This farm, a group company of Kagome, began production in 2005 and celebrates its 20th anniversary of shipments this year. It produces approximately 3,000 tons of tomatoes annually in a vast greenhouse covering 8.5 hectares and ships them nationwide. As a base that embodies the Kagome Group's mission, "The Kagome Group continues to create a cycle where people enrich nature, and nature enriches people," it practices environmentally friendly and sustainable agriculture.
3. Event Report
1) Tomato Seminar Held
A tomato seminar was conducted by Kagome employees on the bus ride from Hakata Station to Hibikinada Farm. Through a quiz on tomato trivia and explanations on how to identify delicious tomatoes, it provided ANA Group employees with an opportunity to deepen their knowledge about tomatoes.
2) Hibikinada Farm Tour
To discover the reason why red and delicious tomatoes are available in stores regardless of the season, participants observed tomato cultivation in a greenhouse with thorough temperature and humidity control. Comments such as "This is the first time I've seen tomatoes growing!" were heard, deepening their understanding of the technology and dedication at the agricultural production site.
3) Lecture on Vegetable Intake Held
After the farm tour, a lecture on vegetable intake was conducted. Following the hands-on experience with tomatoes, the lecture on the importance of vegetable intake deepened participants' familiarity and knowledge of vegetables, serving as an opportunity for future behavioral change.
4) Veggie Check® Experience
Participants experienced "Veggie Check®," a device that estimates vegetable intake simply by holding their palm over a sensor, which served as an opportunity to reconsider their own vegetable consumption.
4. Feedback from Participating ANA Group Employees
"Through the tomato farm tour and Veggie Check measurement, I thought I should eat more vegetables. I plan to enjoy vegetables not just raw, but also by preparing them in different ways, such as stir-frying, using the "Tomato Tamago Stir-fry Sauce" I received as a souvenir."
"I was going to prepare a picnic sheet because I have children, but it was completely different from the field I imagined, with no soil, and I was surprised. I realized this is something you can only understand by visiting!"
"I thought Kagome's fresh tomatoes were sold in bags at supermarkets, but during the explanation, I learned that they also cultivate "Delica Tomatoes," which have less drip and are used in hamburgers and sandwiches, and I was impressed by the high level of Kagome's tomato technology."

National surveys show that many people living in Japan have not met the target intake of 350g/day of vegetables for the past 10 years※2. To achieve this significant goal, 22 companies from various industries, including Kagome, have been collaborating since 2020, working daily to change individual "awareness and behavior regarding vegetable intake" with the slogan "Let's eat vegetables." We aim to propose positive and enjoyable ways to consume vegetables, unconstrained by traditional methods, to as many people as possible.
