Kagawa Electric Power Develops "Ultra-Short Delivery" Cubicle "PitCube2" Specialized for Maintenance Factories, Shipments to Begin in Late May

Kagawa Electric Power Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: 10-5 Tenjinmae, Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture / Representative Director: Hiroyuki Miyamae) has developed "PitCube2," a cubicle specialized for maintenance factories, to meet the needs for new installation and replacement of power receiving equipment accompanying the introduction of air conditioning in maintenance factories. Orders began on April 1st, and shipments will commence in late May.

PitCube2 inherits the concept of the conventional PitCube (specialized for maintenance factories, space-saving) while featuring a "new design" that includes transformers and electrical circuits (power supply design). It also comes standard with ground fault protection functions, upgrading safety, and the installed transformers comply with the 3rd Top Runner standards. The revamped PitCube2 will be shipped at a practically immediate delivery level, with a minimum of 2 business days, solving the challenges of "insufficient power receiving capacity, difficulty in power supply design, and long delivery times" that have hindered the introduction of air conditioning in maintenance factories, both in terms of product and supply system.

PitCube2 is overseen by Kagawa Electric Power Co., Ltd. (unified development planning and sales contact), with transformer design and manufacturing handled by Daifuku Co., Ltd., and cubicle design and manufacturing by Kawamura Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. Against the backdrop of increasing demand for cubicles and supply not keeping up, leading to "unpredictable delivery times" that delayed decisions on installing air conditioning equipment, PitCube2 standardizes specifications as a general-purpose type, achieving a "no more waiting" procurement model through the cooperation of the three companies.

Furthermore, Kagawa Electric Power not only supplies cubicles but also provides nationwide support from consultation to arrangement of air conditioning equipment procurement, air conditioning electrical work, and cubicle replacement work (※Utilizing a network of partner companies. Improving the working environment by introducing air conditioning in maintenance factories is a crucial theme that directly impacts not only maintenance productivity and heatstroke prevention but also the recruitment and retention of mechanics. However, in the field, even when plans for new air conditioning installation or replacement are decided, there are many cases where the process stops due to unpredictable cubicle delivery times.
Individual design (custom design) and individual procurement of cubicles for each project lead to specification variations and complex arrangements, traditionally requiring several months for delivery. With the "3rd Judgment Criteria for Top Runner Transformers," also known as the 3rd Top Runner standards for transformers, enforced from April 1, 2026, the requirement for switching to high-efficiency transformers has become a focus, often resulting in "uncertain cubicle delivery times."

To address this bottleneck, PitCube2 standardizes materials, assembly, inspection, and arrangement as a "general-purpose type" specifically for air conditioning installation in maintenance factories. Furthermore, by incorporating supply design (a system that integrally designs inventory and production plans), it structurally achieves short delivery times.

PitCube2 is a cubicle designed with the philosophy of complying with the 3rd Top Runner standards, meeting the prerequisites required for new installations and replacements from April 2026 onwards.
Based on the concepts required by the 3rd Top Runner standards (e.g., achieving target values for energy consumption efficiency / compliance with the scope of specific equipment / conformity to eco-design guidelines / initiatives for CO2 emission reduction), it is provided with specifications that make future new installations and replacements easy to plan.

Features of PitCube2

1) General-purpose type = Low cost. Reduces specification variations, simplifies estimation to procurement

The application is limited to "air conditioning installation in maintenance factories (+gymnasiums, etc.)," and standardized as a general-purpose type.
This reduces the man-hours and adjustment costs of individual design, realizing a procurement model that makes it easier to proceed with installation decisions.

2) Space-saving design. Can be installed / Predictable construction

To increase the certainty of installation even in sites with many installation restrictions, space-saving design is emphasized.
(Reference model) External dimensions W1180 x H2100 x D1145mm / Main unit dimensions W1100 x H2050 x D950mm (75kVA class).
This makes it easier to plan on-site搬入 and layout, supporting the "predictability" of construction.

3) "In time for this summer's construction!" Practically immediate delivery level cubicle

Since PitCube2 is standardized and manufactured as a general-purpose type, it can be shipped in a minimum of 2 business days after specification confirmation (※Varies depending on stock status, number of units, delivery area, and site conditions).
To achieve "immediate delivery," the three companies aim for a "no more waiting" procurement.

4) Ground fault protection function "GR・ZCT" standard equipped

Among the protection functions required for power receiving equipment, ground fault (leakage / ground fault accident) protection is emphasized, and
GR (Ground Relay) / ZCT (Zero-Phase Current Transformer) are standard equipped. This enhances protection and safety in on-site operations.

6) Suppresses supply risks with quality from leading domestic manufacturers

Transformer design and manufacturing, and cubicle design and manufacturing are handled by leading domestic manufacturers, clarifying quality, inspection, and accountability.
This reduces the risk of on-site installation through a reliable system for the entire procurement process, not just delivery times.

How long will the power outage last during construction?

Since the installation is completed in advance and only the switching work is performed, the power outage is estimated to be half a day to one day (approx. 6 to 8 hours).
Construction can be scheduled to coincide with store holidays, etc.

How long is the delivery time?

Since PitCube2 is standardized for maintenance factories, it is designed to provide more certainty and shorter delivery times compared to general custom-made products. The latest stock status and shortest delivery time will be provided for each project.

What is the definition of "immediate delivery"?

PitCube2 is not individually designed for each project (custom design) but is standardized and produced as a general-purpose type, so it can be shipped in a minimum of 2 business days from order after specification confirmation.
The feasibility of "immediate delivery" varies depending on stock status, number of units, delivery area, and site conditions.

What on-site information is required for construction?

A preliminary response (estimate, delivery time estimate) is possible if you provide at least the following:
