Ainico Group Co., Ltd., which operates 11 businesses mainly in Nara and southern Kyoto, including the custom home builder Kaede Koumuten and real estate business Tochinara, announced that it will appear as a guest speaker at a free online seminar hosted by THA Co., Ltd., provider of the AI President service. The seminar, titled “Practical AI Implementation Seminar for Small and Mid-Sized Home Builders: How to Reduce 2,247 Work Hours Annually Starting with No IT Department,” will be held on June 5, 2026. Since October 2024, Ainico Group has launched an internal AI utilization working group with support from THA. Starting with no dedicated IT specialists, the company promoted AI adoption across all 10 departments. Through field-led process improvements, it achieved a reduction of 2,247 work hours over one year. Initially, the company faced challenges such as not knowing where to begin and using AI without seeing concrete results. Through company-wide AI study sessions and regular projects, it created an environment where frontline employees could identify issues, learn, and put AI into practice. As a result, general employees who previously did not know APIs or Google Apps Script became capable of independently improving operations with generative AI. Rather than focusing on individual techniques, the seminar will share the practical process of how the company embedded AI use internally and enabled frontline teams to operate independently, along with real examples from its initiatives. In Part 1, Yui Nakamura from Ainico Group’s JS Business Division DX Promotion Section will present a 20-minute overview of the AI project from launch to the present. The session will cover how the company moved from uncertainty over whether AI could be used at all to launching weekly projects after company-wide AI study sessions. Examples include automation linking Google Workspace and ChatWork, accounting workflow efficiency improvements, and automated checks of real estate property information. In Part 2, Ainico Group President Tadayoshi Tajiri and THA President Asako Nishiyama will hold an executive discussion on what is needed to make AI take root in an organization. They will share insights on involving employees, designing motivation, balancing education with implementation, and working with external partners. The seminar will be held online via Zoom on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 11:00 to 12:00. It is intended for executives, board members, and AI promotion staff at small and mid-sized companies in the housing industry, including builders, house builders, and renovation companies. Participation is free, and registration is available through the form at https://x.gd/KGzL3. After the seminar, participants may also join the AI Leaders Club, a 12-month community program priced at 8,000 yen per month. The program provides monthly online seminars and community-based Q&A support to help companies move beyond learning into sustained execution. THA President Asako Nishiyama commented that in the AI era, what matters is not only efficiency, but also evolving while preserving each company’s unique identity. She said Ainico Group’s initiative is impressive because the company did not simply delegate AI adoption to employees, but faced AI directly and developed usage methods suited to its own organization. Ainico Group President Tadayoshi Tajiri said the company felt a sense of urgency that local small and mid-sized businesses would lose competitiveness if they did nothing. He noted that even without an IT department, the company was able to change significantly by starting with motivated employees. He emphasized that the important thing is not to aim for perfection, but to act first, and to teach ways of thinking rather than simply providing answers, so employees can use AI while maintaining their own ability to think.
