Popular Program "Field Trip Plus" to be Held in April

Global Learner’s Institute (GLI), an English education institution that supports students' advancement to boarding schools both domestically and internationally, will hold the experiential learning program "Field Trip Plus" on Sunday, April 19, 2026.

This time, the theme is "Disaster Prevention and Safety Measures."

Set at the Ikebukuro Bosaikan (Disaster Prevention Center) in Tokyo, the program aims to foster the ability to act in emergencies through hands-on experience.

Why Learn About "Disaster Prevention" Now?

In Japan, where natural disasters are a constant reality, it is essential to possess not only knowledge but also the ability to act. This program equips participants with practical knowledge and judgment regarding disaster prevention, empowering them to protect themselves and their families.

Three-Step Design for Deeper Learning

GLI's Field Trip goes beyond simple observation, offering a comprehensive experience from "Learn → Experience → Share."

① Learn

Learn about the types of natural disasters and specific countermeasures through exhibits and explanations at the Disaster Prevention Center.

② Experience

・ Earthquake simulator

・ Smoke experience (evacuation drill)

・ Fire extinguishing drill

Experience practical disaster prevention activities such as these.

③ Share

Present the day's learning in English (60-90 seconds).

→ Consolidate understanding into "usable knowledge."

Interviews and discussions in English on the theme of "Natural Disasters" are also planned for the day.

In addition to acquiring knowledge, participants will simultaneously develop their ability to think and communicate in English.

Maximize Results with Pre-Learning

Pre-learning will be conducted on Saturday, April 18, the day before the event, at the GLI Hiroo Second Classroom.

By organizing basic knowledge and questions, the quality of learning on the day will be enhanced.

*Materials and worksheets will be provided even if you cannot attend the pre-learning session.
