Kimura Information Technology Inc. (Headquarters: Saga City, Saga Prefecture, Representative Director: Takao Kimura, hereinafter "Kimura IT") has begun providing "GAKUSEE MI," the first semiconductor EDA (Electronic Design Automation) education platform for high school students in Japan (※1), from April 1, 2026.
This platform complies with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's "N-E.X.T. High School Concept" and includes the cloud version of the professional EDA tool "SX-Meister," developed by G-DAT Inc. (Tokyo). This enables full-scale semiconductor design learning, which has typically been centered in universities and specialized institutions, to be realized from the high school level.
(※1) First initiative in Japan to provide hands-on educational services utilizing semiconductor design EDA tools for high school students (according to Kimura IT's research)

Background
In Japan, with the rapid growth of the semiconductor industry, approximately 40,000 semiconductor personnel are expected to be needed over the next 10 years by nine major companies alone (※2). Furthermore, the global semiconductor market is projected to expand to around 1 trillion dollars by 2026, making talent development a critical national priority. However, current high school education primarily consists of theoretical lectures, with limited opportunities to acquire practical skills.
In response to this situation, our company has developed the educational platform "GAKUSEE MI" to provide practical semiconductor education from the high school level. To meet the semiconductor education needs of the "N-E.X.T. High School Concept," which will be fully launched this spring, we will officially commence provision from April 2026.

Three Features of "GAKUSEE MI"
・ Full-scale design practice using EDA tools
The platform is equipped with an EDA tool environment actually used in business, allowing for practical circuit design experience. A curriculum designed for high school students to learn step-by-step is provided, enabling them to acquire the foundational skills necessary to become future design engineers.
・ Acquisition of operational skills through video learning
The platform offers video content that explains how to operate the EDA tools step-by-step. Students can learn at their own pace, repeating the content as needed, to improve their skills.
・ Portfolio function to visualize learning outcomes
Learning history and design work are automatically saved on the platform, visualizing progress and achievement levels. These are accumulated as tangible records that can be utilized for career guidance and job hunting.
Expected Effects
For Students
・Increased interest and engagement in the semiconductor field from 20% to 82%
・Formation of specific career visions, such as "I want to become a circuit design engineer"
・Acquisition of practical skills that are immediately useful upon entering university or higher technical colleges
・Obtaining a concrete portfolio that can be presented during job hunting

For Educational Institutions
・Increased enrollment in science and engineering fields and enhanced career guidance
・Strengthening of industry-academia and corporate collaboration
・Contribution to the regional semiconductor talent development ecosystem
For Industry
・Qualitative shift from "inexperienced individuals" to "candidates ready for immediate contribution"
・Significant reduction in post-hire training costs
・Decreased turnover rate due to an increase in applicants with a deep understanding of the industry
・Improved hiring efficiency based on concrete skill evaluations
Future Outlook
Moving forward, we will construct curricula in collaboration with national colleges of technology and universities nationwide, continuously update educational materials in line with the latest technological trends, and expand our content.
Furthermore, through collaboration with regional semiconductor consortia, we will work to support talent development on a regional scale, and in the future, we are considering expanding the semiconductor education platform to the Asian region, aiming for around 2027 onwards.
