Passion Club General Incorporated Association (Headquarters: Meguro-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Shigeru Kotani) will host the experience-based event 'Wonder Farm de Wan!derful Passion Pet Disaster Prevention in Iwaki' on May 5, 2026 (Tuesday/Holiday) at 'Wonder Farm' in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture. The event welcomes talent 'Mr. Urban Legend Seki Akio' and targets dog owners and families with themes of pet disaster preparedness, food, and emotional care.
In the region of Fukushima, utilizing lessons from the Great East Japan Earthquake and the nuclear disaster, the event aims to promote 'accompanied evacuation' (evacuating with pets) and revitalize the local community. Admission is free, featuring a 'Disaster Dog Race' as an evacuation simulation with dogs, AED and life-saving experiences, and a local market. The main attractions include disaster rescue dog demonstrations, walking experiences with guide dogs, and interaction with therapy dogs. The goal is to provide a place to nurture the 'power to survive' unexpected difficulties and overcome stress through fun activities with family and pets. This is a 'social contribution event' that approaches local issues while learning about disaster prevention.
[Event Schedule (Rain or Shine)]
- 10:00: Market & Food Trucks start (until 17:00). Features local residents and collaboration menus like 'Vegetable Tech powder veggies x Roasted Sweet Potato' and 'Yakumaru Dashi Curry'.
- 11:00: Disaster Dog Race (approx. 2 hours). Evacuation simulation limited to 30 dogs. Pre-entry via Google Forms.
- 13:00: Guide Dog Experience (approx. 50 mins by East Japan Guide Dog Association).
- 14:00: Disaster Rescue Dog Demonstration (approx. 30 mins by Search Dog Fukushima).
- 14:30: Therapy Dog Interaction (approx. 30 mins by volunteer group 'Ai-ai').
- 15:00: Pet Disaster Prevention Talk (approx. 30 mins by FAV Reactive Co., Ltd.).
- 17:00: Event Ends.
Background and Passion: Following the Great East Japan Earthquake, the importance of pet evacuation became clear in Fukushima. 15 years later, we believe it is significant to revisit those experiences and pass them on to the next generation and those outside Fukushima. One of the regional issues in the Hamadori area is 'emotional recovery' after the disaster. We aim for this event to create community buzz and serve as an opportunity for future town planning. By having local residents think about disaster prevention as their own issue, we aim to build a system where 'no one is left behind' during disasters. We provide an opportunity for people in other prefectures to think about disasters through this information dissemination.
