Announcing the Draw for the Reiwa 8 All Japan Judo Championships: The Weight-Classless Battle to Decide Men's Judo's 'Strongest' and Japan's #1!

The Kodansha All Japan Judo Federation has released the pairings for the "Reiwa 8 All Japan Judo Championships" to be held at Nippon Budokan on Sunday, April 26, 2026.

In addition to last year's champion Daigo Kagawa and runner-up Hisayoshi Harasawa, five athletes – Tatsuki Narayama, Takeshi Takeoka, and Sanshiro Murao – have been selected as recommended athletes for this tournament. Athletes who have advanced from the 10 regional preliminary tournaments nationwide will also compete, vying for the title of Japan's best in a weight-classless format.

Please come and watch the "true Japan's #1 deciding match" where top athletes, who usually compete in their respective weight classes, challenge each other by overcoming weight differences.
