To commemorate the opening of the Nagakute Battlefield Memorial Museum (Nagakute City, Aichi Prefecture), a new product titled 'Nagakute Battlefield Piyorin Monaka,' featuring the original sweet 'Piyorin' from JR Tokai Food Service Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture; President: Kenichi Iwashita), will be released on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

This product was jointly developed by the Nagakute City Tourism and Exchange Association, Asaiya Seikaho (an 81-year-old traditional Japanese confectionery shop in Nagakute that produces and sells the iconic 'Kosenjo Monaka'), and students from Aichi Shukutoku University, driven by the desire to 'create a signature souvenir for Nagakute.'

A new signature sweet combining the craftsmanship of a local confectionery shop with the sensibilities of Gen Z and the world of 'Piyorin'

Based on Asaiya Seikaho's 'Kosenjo Monaka,' this Japanese sweet features a specially designed wafer shell shaped like Piyorin, filled with bean paste carefully prepared by artisans.

The designs for the packaging and the dedicated carrying bag incorporate ideas from university students studying tourism, combining cuteness and fun with the elegance expected of a souvenir.

The Piyorin-shaped wafer shell is filled with handmade bean paste.
