New name for the newspaper clipping contract agency service: "J-CLIP"

Key Points of This Release 1. New Name Decided: To expand service recognition, the name has been set as "J-CLIP." 2. Expanded Media Coverage: Four new newspapers added: Fukushima Minpo, Niigata Nippo, Chugoku Shimbun, and Kobe Shimbun. 3. Enhanced Convenience: A single account enables centralized management of all 11 newspapers. The Kyodo News option introduced last fiscal year remains available.

The Japan Reprographic Rights Center (JRRC), a public interest incorporated association, has decided on "J-CLIP" as the new name for its newspaper clipping contract agency service. Starting from FY2026 (Reiwa 8) contracts, four additional regional newspapers will be added, expanding coverage to a total of 11 papers. Combined with the Kyodo News article usage option introduced in FY2025, this service enables lawful one-stop utilization of an even broader range of news content.

Four Newspapers Added from FY2026: Manage Contracts for All 11 Papers with a Single Account Previously, clipping applications required separate confirmation and contracts with each newspaper publisher. With J-CLIP, users can centrally manage everything from quote issuance to contracts and usage fee payments through a dedicated web system. The following four newspapers will be newly added starting from FY2026 (Reiwa 8) contracts:

[Newly Added Media from FY2026] ・Fukushima Minpo

・Niigata Nippo

・Chugoku Shimbun

・Kobe Shimbun

[Existing Covered Media] Iwate Nippo, Chiba Nippo, Chubu Keizai Shimbun, Kyoto Shimbun, Sanyo Shimbun, Tokushima Shimbun, Ehime Shimbun

Even More Convenient with the Kyodo News Article Usage Option The Kyodo News distributed article usage option, introduced in FY2025, continues to be available. Normally, newspaper article reproduction is limited to original articles published by each newspaper. However, by adding this option, breaking news and important nationwide information distributed by Kyodo News can also be lawfully shared within organizations. Combined with the now-expanded 11 newspapers, the majority of articles in each paper are covered, dramatically improving both peace of mind and efficiency for public relations, general affairs departments, and other divisions. The procedure involves adding the option to each newspaper's* contract, with no separate application to Kyodo News required. *Excluding Chubu Keizai Shimbun
