Kumamon's Summer Adventure Begins: 'Kumamon Adventure Train' Launches on July 4

JR Kyushu will launch the 'Kumamon Adventure Train' on Saturday, July 4, in conjunction with the opening of the Kumamoto Destination Campaign. On the first day of operation, at Yatsushiro Station—the arrival point of the first service (a Kiha 200 series temporary train)—a special collaboration will take place with Hitetsu Orange Railway Co., Ltd., where both companies' 'Kumamon-wrapped trains' will be parked side by side. This joint display will only be available on July 4.

1. Departure Ceremony for the Kiha 200 Series (Conventional Line)

Date and Time: From approximately 14:25 on Saturday, July 4

Venue: Platform 2, Kumamoto Station (Viewing may not be possible depending on crowd conditions)

2. Joint Collaboration at Yatsushiro Station – One-Day-Only Special Event

At Yatsushiro Station, the arrival point of the first train, Hitetsu Orange Railway will bring its Kumamon-wrapped train into the station, allowing both companies' Kumamon-wrapped trains to park side by side.

3. Departure Ceremony for the 800 Series (Shinkansen)

Date and Time: From approximately 10:05 on Saturday, July 18

Venue: Platform 12, Kumamoto Station

Guests: Kumamoto Prefecture Sales & Happiness Director, Kumamon

4. 'Kumamon Adventure Train' Digital Check-in Rally

Embark on a grand adventure to chase down Kumamon-wrapped trains operated by JR Kyushu, Kumamoto Electric Railway, and Hitetsu Orange Railway and collect digital collectibles!

Period: July 4 (Sat) – December 31 (Thu)

How to Participate: Register as a web member on the JR Kyushu app and scan the QR code inside the train

Rewards: Digital collection items + commemorative ticket coupon

Reward Collection: Kumamon Dungeon (3-10 Sakura-machi, Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City, inside Sakura-Machi Kumamoto)
