JR Kyushu will operate a total of 1,031 temporary trains (Shinkansen and limited express trains) during the summer season (July to September) when customer usage is expected to be high (220 on the Kyushu Shinkansen, 207 on the Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen, and 604 limited express trains).
The operation dates for the D&S trains that color a special journey have also been decided.
By increasing services mainly during the summer vacation, Obon, and Silver Week periods, access to popular tourist destinations and events will become even more convenient. Please take this opportunity to use JR Kyushu's temporary trains.
Topics on Temporary Trains
◎Kyushu Shinkansen
・A temporary "Sakura" train will operate earlier than the first regular train departing from Kumamoto Station. It will also connect with a temporary "Nozomi" bound for Tokyo at Hakata Station. This extends the time you can spend at your destination and improves convenience.
・In addition to the temporary "Sakura" originating from and terminating at Shin-Osaka, a new temporary "Sakura" originating from and terminating at Hiroshima will be operated. You can also transfer smoothly to the temporary "Nozomi" originating from and terminating at Tokyo on the same platform at Hiroshima Station.
◎Limited Express Trains
・By increasing the number of temporary "Midori" trains, during the peak inbound days of the Obon period, four limited express trains per hour will operate from Saga Station for four consecutive hours (from 12:00 to 15:00).
◎D&S Trains
・During the summer vacation period, the "A-Train" will operate daily.
・With the establishment of temporary "Kawasemi Yamasemi" services, one additional round trip will be added between Kumamoto and Miyaji, in addition to the "Aso Boy!".
◎Others
・During the summer vacation period, a temporary rapid train (all reserved seats) will operate between Kumamoto and Miyaji in conjunction with the Kumamoto Destination Campaign. We will announce this separately.
*Information regarding operation dates and times is as of May 15th (Friday) and is subject to change.
*For details on temporary trains and D&S trains, please see [Appendix].
*Reserved seat tickets will be on sale from 10:00 AM one month before the operation date of each train (the same day of the previous month).
