The JR East Group is working to strengthen its comprehensive capabilities in regional areas toward the realization of the "Enriching Japan by Energizing Regions" vision set forth in the Group Management Vision "Yusho 2034."
To rebuild the business foundation and accelerate growth strategies in the Tohoku area, it has been decided that Sendai Terminal Building Co., Ltd. and JR East Tohoku General Service Co., Ltd. will merge on April 1, 2027.
Through this reorganization, the functions and resources of both companies will be integrated to promote value creation across stations, railway lines, and community development, thereby enhancing the appeal of stations such as Sendai Station and promoting the creation of lifestyles along the railway lines.
Furthermore, the new company, along with JR East Group companies based in Tohoku and other group companies, will work together to strengthen the creation of mobility and attract visitors to Tohoku by developing destinations, thereby achieving sustainable growth and creating regional vitality in the Tohoku area.
