povo expands 'povo Data Oasis' to 83 stations for foreign visitors

KDDI Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President & CEO: Kouji Matsuda; hereinafter 'KDDI') and East Japan Railway Company (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President: Yoichi Kise; hereinafter 'JR East') will expand the target stations for 'povo Data Oasis' from June 9, 2026, targeting users of the eSIM service 'Japan SIM' for foreign visitors to Japan. This will enable data top-ups at a total of 83 stations, mainly within JR East's service area.

povo Data Oasis is a service that allows users to receive free data usable with povo2.0 simply by accessing a special website from their smartphone at specific locations. For customers using Japan SIM, they will receive 0.5GB per day, up to 5GB per month (total of 10 times) at target stations.

Japan SIM can also be purchased through a dedicated link in the smartphone app 'Welcome Suica Mobile' provided by JR East for foreign visitors. By enabling smooth communication setup both before and after arrival, it comfortably supports various scenes during the visit, such as train travel, sightseeing, and information searches.
