In addition to "THE LINKPILLAR 1," which soft-opened on March 27 last year, today's grand opening marks the opening of three more buildings: "THE LINKPILLAR 2," "MoN Takanawa: The Museum of Narratives (hereinafter "MoN Takanawa")," and "TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY RESIDENCE." Concurrently, "OIMACHI TRACKS" in the adjacent Oimachi area also opened on the same day, marking a new step forward for the wider Shinagawa area.

Prior to the grand opening, a "TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY / OIMACHI TRACKS Joint Opening Ceremony" was held today from 9:30 AM inside "MoN Takanawa," a cultural creation and dissemination hub, to commemorate the opening. This ceremony connected the venues with a live broadcast to OIMACHI TRACKS. Attending the TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY venue were Mr. Norio Sasaki, State Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism; Ms. Yuriko Koike, Governor of Tokyo; Ms. Ai Seike, Mayor of Minato City; Ms. Tamayo Marukawa, Member of the House of Representatives; Mr. Kengo Kuma, Principal of Kengo Kuma and Associates; Kabuki actors Mr. Kikugoro Onoe and Mr. Kikunosuke Onoe; actors Mr. Shinichi Tsutsumi and Ms. Ami Touma; and Mr. Yuji Fukasawa, Chairman of East Japan Railway Company.

Furthermore, the ceremony incorporated a symbolic presentation of a future city, with the latest android "Yamatoroid" serving as one of the emcees, embodying a scene of human-robot coexistence, a vision of the future.

The ceremony commenced with an opening act featuring a performance by the NHK Symphony Orchestra at TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY. Following this, a spectacular performance by the Shiki Theatre Company was presented from the stage at OIMACHI TRACKS, the live broadcast venue, and the ceremony proceeded with enthusiasm connecting both venues. After the opening remarks, as a presentation expressing the collaboration between the two cities, a live connection was established with the Oimachi Station platform. The station master of Takanawa Gateway Station delivered a tape, transported from Oimachi Station via the Keihin-Tohoku Line, to the stage, where it was received by the humanoid robot "Galbot G1." This "tape transfer" presentation, combining railway and advanced technology, garnered significant attention.

At OIMACHI TRACKS, the live broadcast venue, Yoichi Kise, Representative Director and President, as the representative of the organizers, stated, "All employees feel great joy in being able to welcome this auspicious day. The progress of this project..."
