A Great Summer Adventure for Families! Launch of Carefully Selected Summer Courses for the Experiential Learning Tour 'Furetemina'

○ 'Furetemina', an initiative under the JR East Group's child-rearing support service 'HAPPY CHILD PROJECT', is operated by East Japan Railway Company and JR East View Tourism & Sales. By providing 'railway travel' and 'various authentic experiences through travel' to the children who will lead the next generation, we aim to support their growth and help families create lasting memories.

○ This time, we have prepared carefully selected summer courses where you can spend a special time experiencing nature and hands-on activities that can only be found in 'Furetemina'.

1. Overview of the Launched Courses

(1) Head to the popular Roadside Stations 'Agream Showa' and 'Kawaba Denen Plaza'! Fresh Corn Harvesting Experience in the Vegetable Kingdom Showa Village!
A Gunma taste-testing bus tour that the whole family can enjoy. Depart from Takasaki Station and head to 'Roadside Station Agream Showa' in Showa Village. The seasonal corn harvesting experience is highly popular with children! You can also enjoy shopping for freshly picked vegetables.
Lunch is at the Okutone Winery restaurant, featuring Hamburg steak and their famous 'Kogen Gratin'. The combination of a rich white sauce made from Showa Village raw milk and local vegetables is highly satisfying for both adults and children.
In the afternoon, enjoy free time for shopping and walking at Roadside Station Kawaba Denen Plaza before returning to Takasaki Station.

(2) Walking on the Tracks?! Set off on a Summer Adventure: 'Usui Pass Abandoned Railway Walk' and Guided Tour of 'Usui Pass Railway Heritage Park'!
The former Shin-etsu Main Line between Yokokawa and Karuizawa stations was abandoned in 1997 due to the opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen. 'Usui Pass', once known as one of the most difficult railway sections connecting the two stations, still retains its tracks, bridges, and tunnels in their original state. Accompanied by a professional guide, you will stroll through areas that are normally off-limits! Enjoy experiences unique to abandoned railways, such as walking through tunnels, walking on the tracks, and eating a bento box right on the tracks.
At the 'Usui Pass Railway Heritage Park', where over 30 precious train cars that can only be seen here are exhibited, you will tour the park accompanied by a guide.
