What is "Red Cross Month"?
Since May 1st is the founding anniversary of the Japanese Red Cross Society and May 8th is "World Red Cross Day," marking the birthday of founder Henry Dunant, we designate May as "Red Cross Month." During this time, we introduce our Red Cross projects to the public and request your cooperation in providing funding for our activities.
Guided by the philosophy of "protecting human life, health, and dignity," the Red Cross operates in 191 countries and regions worldwide, carrying out various projects including disaster response and activities in conflict zones.
The Japanese Red Cross Society Kanagawa Chapter has produced posters, flyers, and pamphlets as promotional materials to raise awareness. We have received permission to display these posters at stations within the JR East Yokohama Branch jurisdiction and at stations along the Yokohama Minatomirai Railway line.
In addition, to serve as a reminder of Red Cross activities, we will once again be conducting our Red Light-Up Project, centered around May 8th.
