JR East Cross Station Development Company (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Company President: Yoshiaki Shirata; hereinafter "JR-Cross") and Chiyoda Ward (Mayor: Takaaki Higuchi) signed a basic agreement on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, aimed at revitalizing the regional economy and enhancing the appeal of the Akihabara, Kanda, and Ochanomizu areas in Chiyoda Ward.

Moving forward, around the commercial facilities operated by JR-Cross within stations, such as 'Ecute Akihabara', 'Ecute Edition Ochanomizu', and 'mAAch ecute Kanda Manseibashi', JR-Cross and the ward will leverage their mutual strengths, collaborate, and cooperate to realize the revitalization of the local economy.

Additionally, as part of this initiative, a total of approximately 3.05 million yen, which is the play fee revenue from the community contribution program game machine 'PLAY FOR THE FUTURE -AKIBA DONATION-' installed at 'Ecute Akihabara', will be donated to the Akihabara Regional Collaboration Council 'Akiba 21' (Chairman: Nobutaka Satake, hereinafter 'Akiba 21') as business activity funds. The donation will be used for projects promoting aesthetics and maintaining traffic and public security to enhance the appeal of Akihabara's streets.
JR-Cross will further strengthen its initiatives through cooperation with Chiyoda Ward, maximize the potential of the Akihabara, Kanda, and Ochanomizu districts, and contribute to the sustainable development of these areas.
