The 'earth song' project, promoted by JR East Cross Station Development Company (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Company President: Yoshiaki Shirata; hereinafter "JR-Cross"), which creates a "new circulation" of regions and resources, will open a booth at Earth Day Tokyo 2026, Japan's leading Earth-themed festival, to be held at Yoyogi Park in Tokyo on Saturday, April 18th, and Sunday, April 19th, 2026.

In addition to selling miscellaneous items such as bouquets, candles, and flower bottles made from "Loss Flower®"—flowers that are unavoidably discarded due to being non-standard or unsold—the booth will also host hands-on workshops using "Loss Flower®".

Until now, 'earth song' has offered special products and experiences at JR Takanawa Gateway Station and "ecute" commercial facilities inside stations in the Tokyo metropolitan area. These offerings, using "Slow Flowers" grown in an earth-friendly environment and "Loss Flower®", have been designed to reflect on the entire cycle of flowers, from their creation and use to their eventual regeneration.

This time, as its first activity outside of a station (machinaka/ekisoto), the project will open a booth at "Earth Day Tokyo 2026." Through direct dialogue with visitors who have a high interest in sustainability, 'earth song' aims to embody consideration for the environment and contribution to the local community, accelerating a new circulation of regions and resources (New-Circulation).

TOPIC.1 Selling Original Miscellaneous Goods Made from Loss Flower® and Baked Goods Created with Local Farmers

At Earth Day Tokyo 2026, 'earth song' will sell original miscellaneous goods made from "Loss Flower®" collected from flower farmers and leftover floral decorations. In addition, as a new venture for 'earth song', the lineup will include baked goods from "ELAB," a laboratory for choosing a circular lifestyle in Kuramae, Taito-ku. These sweets are based on the idea of "how to make the most of existing materials," carefully using all ingredients without being bound by standards to create delicious treats.

What is "Loss Flower®︎"? These are flowers that are thrown away without reaching the consumer's hands, due to being non-standard, unsold, or otherwise discarded, even though they are still blooming beautifully. This loss has become a major social issue, creating an environmental burden and a strain on farmers.
