NEC will participate in the "GLOBAL NATURE POSITIVE SUMMIT 2026 KUMAMOTO JAPAN," to be held from July 14th to 15th at Kumamoto Castle Hall, by speaking in a panel discussion with domestic and international experts, and exhibiting at the concurrently held exhibition "NATURE TECH!"
In recent years, environmental issues for corporations have expanded beyond climate change to include halting and restoring nature loss, such as water resources and ecosystems. Furthermore, corporate disclosure in line with TNFD (Note 1) is accelerating. Particularly in the semiconductor and electronics industry, where "water is the lifeline," efforts to reduce environmental impact from business activities and restore nature are critical for sustainable corporate management.
NEC will participate in this event as a "Platinum Partner" and is scheduled to speak in a panel discussion with domestic and international experts on "Nature Positive and Technology Innovation."
At the exhibition "NATURE TECH!," we will introduce initiatives for sustainable corporate management, including AI-powered analysis of water risks at facilities and solutions for reducing environmental impact.

● AI-Powered Analysis of Water Risks at Facilities (NEC)
In 2023, NEC issued the first TNFD report in the IT industry. In the third edition published in 2025, by fully utilizing generative AI and Agentic AI, we achieved in 2 days an assessment of water-related local risks for approximately 2,000 global supply chain locations, which would traditionally require 80,000 hours (Note 2). At that time, we achieved water risk assessments tailored to local characteristics that could not be captured by conventional tools. This helps visualize the impact on business operations promptly and supports the formulation of sustainable management strategies. This initiative has received high praise from government ministries and the World Economic Forum.
● Environmental Impact Reduction Solutions (NEC Facilities)
NEC Facilities' "Water Recycling Service" models the optimal balance of municipal water, wastewater treatment, and reuse required for factory production using proprietary digital tools. It reduces water consumption and contributes to mitigating local water risks and environmental impact. Additionally, the "Environmental Analysis Service" accurately analyzes environmental impact from chemical substances such as PFAS (Note 3), which are expected to face stricter regulations, using dedicated equipment. Based on the results, we propose optimal improvement plans.
