The "Act on Securing Safety of Regenerative Medicine, etc." (hereinafter referred to as "this Act") was established in 2013 and enforced the following year, aiming to promote the rapid and safe provision and dissemination of regenerative medicine.

This Act stipulates matters that medical institutions must comply with when providing regenerative medicine, and systems related to the manufacturing of specific cell-processed products used in regenerative medicine. In Japan, clinical research involving regenerative medicine, cell therapy, and gene therapy, etc., falls under the scope of this Act.

This lecture will explain the overview of this Act, amendments, and recent trends related to the Act.
