V-cube, Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and Group CEO: Naoaki Mashita; hereinafter 'V-cube') is pleased to announce that it has supported the planning and operation of the 'Yamatane Sports Festival 2025,' the first group-wide sports festival held by Yamatane Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Koto-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Iwao Kawarada; hereinafter 'Yamatane').
For this event, V-cube helped realize unique initiatives exclusive to Yamatane, which operates in four business sectors—logistics, food, information, and real estate—such as the 'Truck Tug-of-War,' contributing to the fostering of organizational unity.
■ Challenges and Background
In holding this sports festival as a commemorative project for its 100th anniversary, Yamatane faced the following challenges:
* The need for professionals due to the first company-wide event: This was Yamatane's first attempt at hosting such a sports festival in-house. They felt a strong need for the expertise of planning and operation professionals to ensure the event was not just recreation, but a high-quality venue that would foster organizational unity, while also aiming to leave behind an 'asset' in the form of an internal event tradition.
* Thorough safety management to protect employees and their families: The event was planned for a scale of over 400 participants, including employees and their families. Therefore, preventing injuries and accidents was the most important issue.

V-cube's 'One Event' service provides planning, production, and operational support to help companies lead business events to success. The key features of our support in this instance are as follows:
* Feature 1: Realization of unique planning that embodies corporate identity
Focusing on 'expressing the uniqueness of the logistics business,' we planned and executed a 'Truck Tug-of-War' using a real truck. By taking careful safety measures utilizing external expertise, it became a successful highlight of the event.
* Feature 2: Hands-on project management that fosters 'One Team'
To alleviate the anxiety of the secretariat members who lacked operational know-how, we provided thorough, hands-on support that went beyond formal assistance. By building flat relationships and ensuring psychological safety, we created the ground for the secretariat members and V-cube to function as a single operating team.
* Feature 3: Improving employee engagement and creating 'emotional movement'
After the event, we succeeded in gathering many expressions of gratitude, such as 'It was more fun than I imagined,' and fostering a positive atmosphere of 'I want to do it again.' The event created internal emotional shifts in employees that cannot be measured by numbers, and embodied the values that Yamatane cherishes: 'Enjoying the challenge' and 'Believing in the power of the team.'
■ Comments from Yamatane Representative
'This sports festival project began with the desire not to end the 100th-anniversary milestone with just a ceremony, but to leave behind an "asset" in the form of an internal event that could be held every year. However, despite suggesting it, we had no experience in holding a sports festival. I believed that the cooperation of an external partner was essential to realize a high-quality event that would unite the company while ensuring safety.
What we prioritized in selecting a partner was expertise in events and an attitude of being close to our thoughts. The "Truck Tug-of-War" we were particularly committed to was a difficult hurdle to clear with few precedents, but we were able to realize it by gaining external knowledge. During the preparation period, we built a flat relationship with V-cube where we called each other "-san," which kept psychological safety and allowed us to consult on even the most trivial matters; that was huge.
After the sports festival on the day, when I saw the smiling faces of employees saying "It was fun" and "Thank you," I felt that I had witnessed a moment where employees' hearts were moved, something that cannot be measured by numerical ROI (Return on Investment). This success gave us, the secretariat members, great confidence that "even if you have no experience, if you take on a challenge, you can shape it." Without letting this heat fade, I would like to continue to grow events that are unique to Yamatane.'
