## Architecture in Motion
Inheriting Mr. Roth's watchmaking philosophy, the Caliber DR002 is designed with a focus on clarity and balance of proportions, with every component meticulously placed with intent.

The "Extra Plat" watch embodies a unique philosophy within the constraints of thinness. In designing the DR002, master watchmakers Enrico Barbasini and Michel Navas asked themselves, "how far should we go, and where should we stop?" The finishing, requiring over 70 individual steps, is all done by hand and polished to a level of excellence.

In developing the movement, Enrico Barbasini and Michel Navas sought a balance between chronometric precision and power reserve. To achieve this, they used a 4 Hz balance to increase the frequency. This required a different approach to maintain high frequency without compromising energy efficiency or the overall stability of the movement. The balance itself was improved to a variable inertia structure with counterweights, further enhancing performance while maintaining the movement's slim profile.

## Elegance in the Details
Through the open caseback, one can see the meticulously executed chamfering. Among the most technically demanding features are the internal angles, rendered with a rounded shape. This intricate process, taking at least twice as long as conventional chamfering, speaks to the depth of hand-finishing.

This traditional watchmaking decoration is used not on flat, angular chamfers, but to finish curved surfaces and edges. Applied along the entire edge of the bridges, it creates a rounded, gleaming contour. The angled surfaces are individually and meticulously shaped and polished in-house by hand using a tool called a "cabron." This technique provides a level of precision and uniformity unattainable by automated processes.

## Time Forged in Platinum
The double-ellipse platinum case has a discreet yet special presence. Platinum is far denser and more difficult to work with than gold, putting more strain on tools and requiring skilled craftsmanship at low speeds. Its creation often takes three times longer than gold.

The dial's base is solid gold, accompanied by a gold minute disc with black typography for the time and Daniel Roth's name, its edge adorned with a "filet sauté" pattern. The pinstripe guilloché pattern on the dial is entirely hand-applied using a rose engine lathe, with each line individually engraved. This process requires precise control over depth and spacing to ensure uniformity across the surface. Downward-arched lugs enhance wearing comfort and complement the case's silhouette, creating a sophisticated contrast as a base for the light-tan leather strap.
