During Milan Design Week 2026, Louis Vuitton will unveil new pieces from its “Objets Nomades Collection” at Palazzo Serbelloni. This collection highlights the dialogue between heritage, art, and contemporary creation. Marking the 100th anniversary of the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts (Art Deco Exposition), in which the Maison participated, the “Pierre LeGrand Hommage” collection presents a new vision of the works of Pierre LeGrand, an Art Deco master and a French decorator, illustrator, bookbinder, and furniture maker.

Pierre LeGrand, who collaborated artistically with the Maison in the 1920s, began his work with Louis Vuitton as an illustrator before creating the Maison's first piece of furniture: an ebony dresser with a lacquer finish. This creation will now be reissued as a special edition. In addition to creations inspired by the archives of Pierre LeGrand and Charlotte Perriand, contemporary new works by Estudio Campana, Raw Edges, and Frank Gehry will also be unveiled. These bold works merge unique aesthetics and techniques with Louis Vuitton's signature codes and savoir-faire, constantly pushing the boundaries of innovation.

Origins

Louis Vuitton's origins are deeply intertwined with the history of decorative arts. Set in Paris, an international hub, creativity combined with innovation has been passed down as an essential value of the Maison. In the early 1920s, Gaston-Louis Vuitton (1883–1970), a designer, inventor, and collector, led the Maison, founded by his grandfather in 1854, into new realms of creation. Under his vision, the then-innovative collection of travel luggage expanded into objets, accessories, and fine furniture that fused form and function. The flourishing aesthetics of Art Deco became a source of inspiration for new geometric precision, combined with vibrant colors, precious materials, and exceptional savoir-faire. Louis Vuitton Malletier's booth at the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris demonstrated the Maison's strong connection to the Art Deco style and embodied its innovative spirit. Its influence remains vibrant and undiminished a century later.
