The 1461 shoe was the second iconic model to come off the production line, following the brand's first boot, the '1460.' As a unisex 3-eye shoe, it has earned high acclaim for its durability, comfort, and versatile style. The model name is derived from its birth date, as it was first manufactured on April 1, 1961.

Over the past 65 years, the 1461 shoe has welcomed a diverse range of people from around the world into the Dr. Martens community. With its timeless, ageless silhouette and signature Dr. Martens details—such as the air-cushioned sole and yellow welt stitching—it has left its 'bouncing' soul on the feet of workers, musicians, artists, activists, and various other creators who continue to shape culture globally.

This anniversary model is produced at the Dr. Martens 'Made in England' factory. It features Classic Calf leather from C.F. Stead, a Leeds-based tannery established in 1904, and is a collectible limited edition that incorporates the brand's unique design codes throughout.

The unique texture of the full-grain leather is characterized by a deep finish created by a blend of natural oils and waxes. As it is worn, the leather will develop a natural patina, with the pull-up effect revealing subtle changes in character over time.
