This initiative is a tourism DX project aimed at visualizing human flow, with the objective of enhancing tourism destination management and leading to the consideration of more effective promotion measures. It will commence on April 29, 2026.
【Background】
The Toyosato Elementary School Old Campus, located in Shiga Prefecture, is designated as a nationally registered tangible cultural property as a historic building by Vories architecture. It is also said to be the motif of an anime work, making it a highly popular "sacred pilgrimage site" visited by many fans from all over the country. Furthermore, it has been chosen as a filming location for numerous video works such as movies and TV dramas, becoming a tourist hub that attracts diverse visitors across generations and attributes.
On the other hand, Toyosato Town has attempted to grasp the current situation, such as the number of visitors, to promote strategic and effective visitor attraction promotions utilizing these tourism resources. However, there was a challenge in accurately and continuously acquiring data, increasing the necessity for a new initiative incorporating the concept of tourism DX promoted by the Japan Tourism Agency.
Based on this background, this project aims to accurately grasp visitor attributes and trends through a joint public-private collaboration, and to convey the charm of Toyosato Town to more people.
