With the global increase in interest in sustainability, sustainability initiatives in host cities are becoming increasingly important for the MICE industry, especially for attracting and hosting international conferences organized by international organizations. In response to this situation, JCMA established the "SDGs Committee" in 2024 with the aim of contributing to the promotion of sustainability across the entire industry. The committee supports members in deepening their knowledge of SDGs activities and sustainability.

As part of this effort, the committee previously published 33 examples from 17 companies on its website to facilitate information sharing among members, which further supports sustainable corporate activities. With the recent addition of 26 new companies and 48 cases, the total number of listed examples has increased to 81.

Social demand for sustainability is expected to continue to grow. The MICE industry, which has the power to contribute to society through economic effects on local communities and the creation of business and innovation opportunities, will continue to strive for social development by taking the lead in sustainability. Through these efforts, we aim to be an industry that continues to be chosen by the next generation of talent who will lead future society.
