Osawa & Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Noriaki Kurosaka) will launch the latest work from Swiss watch brand Louis Erard's ?oirmont Metiers d'Art Collection, "Esprit Franque", starting mid-May 2026. This new masterpiece, expressing new craftsmanship where light, texture, and structure shape the dial, will be available as a limited edition of 99 pieces each in two color variations: an elegant blue version and a grey version.
The main feature is the regulator display, characterized by a multi-layered dial, openworked hour and second discs, and a multi-layered decorative technique with three-dimensional sunray ornamentation.
REGULATOR REIMAGINED
Esprit Franque redefines Louis Erard's signature regulator with patterns and light, reconstructing time through a clear visual hierarchy.
For the first time, the hour and second indications are expressed by skeletonized rotating discs. The openworked structure required precise development to ensure smooth rotation, stability, and legibility, while simultaneously bringing lightness and movement to the entire display.
The gaze is naturally drawn to the deep blue or grey minute display. Fluted sunray lines give structure to the dial, creating a flow of light. The fir-tree shaped minute hand symbolizes Louis Erard's identity. The surrounding bright tones highlight the overall composition, changing expression with the movement of the wrist. Reflections on the dial constantly shift, creating variations in light and shadow and depth. This interaction of light is the signature of Esprit Franque.
Both models feature a 39mm polished stainless steel case. The blue model is paired with a beige calf strap, creating a warm impression. The grey model, on the other hand, unifies the tone from dial to strap, completing an architectural and minimalist monochrome expression. It embodies the trend of understated and sophisticated tonal watches that harmonize with both modern style and classical watchmaking.
A New Expression of Metiers d'Art
With Esprit Franque, Louis Erard further expands its recently established realm of metiers d'art. Traditional techniques such as hand engraving, grand feu enamel, and fil d'or have been reinterpreted from a contemporary perspective and offered as limited series. Each project is positioned as an experimental ground, elevating traditional savoir-faire into modern watch expression. By focusing on clarity, structure, and material texture, the concept of metiers d'art is redefined beyond the conventional boundaries of luxury watchmaking.
Esprit Franque further develops this approach, presenting a new visual language guided by light, structure, and movement.
Louis Erard's latest work, "Regulator Esprit Franque", is a new expression of metiers d'art woven from light and structure.
