Beni-shoga's Kumamoto Pro-Wrestler Delighted with 'Love Correlation Chart' in Her First Starring Drama: 'All the Guys' Arrows Were Pointing at Me!'

Talent Akane Osawa hosts the Nippon Broadcasting System program 'Akane Osawa LUCKY 7 supported by Inuzuka Seisakusho' (weekdays from 9:50 PM to 9:57 PM). From Monday, May 11th to Friday, May 15th, comedian Kumamoto Pro-Wrestler of the duo Beni-shoga appeared as a guest. She discussed the surprises and differences from variety shows she felt during her first drama appearance.

Kumamoto Pro-Wrestler formed the comedy duo Beni-shoga with Miki Inada in 2014. In 2023, she won the female comedian contest 'THE W,' becoming the seventh champion. Known for her powerful greeting starting with 'Joshī!', she is active across stage, TV, and radio. On her YouTube channel 'Beni-shoga no Banzai Channel,' she is also popular for her 'Tank Top Kitchen' segment where she cooks in a tank top.

This spring, Kumamoto challenged her first drama and first leading role, playing a detective in 'Daimaru Ai wa Sentaku suru.' Meanwhile, Osawa is also currently playing a detective, Iori Toyohashi, in the drama 'Too Much Love and Murder,' coincidentally making them a 'W-detective' pair, which sparked excitement from the beginning of the program.

Regarding the offer for her first leading role, Kumamoto expressed her surprise and gratitude, saying, 'I thought it was a prank. I've never shown my acting to anyone, but the variety show staff planned it...'

The filming style was highly unusual: a single-take shot where the ending of each episode was kept secret only from Kumamoto, proceeding with improvisation. When asked about mistakes made under this unique pressure, she confessed, '(During an act,) I was told, 'You're looking at the camera,'' and laughed, recalling it as 'the most uncool and embarrassing moment.'

On the differences between variety and drama sets, Kumamoto started by saying, 'They have outerwear (location jackets) that variety shows don't have.' Osawa agreed, 'The wardrobe staff helps you put it on. That really makes you feel like an actress, right?' Their conversation buzzed with excitement about the attentive care unique to drama sets.

When asked about roles she'd like to try in the future, she showed ambition for roles completely opposite to her character, such as 'a cabin attendant, serious roles, and even love stories.' She mentioned that in her recent drama, 'the correlation chart had all the guys' arrows pointing at me,' and she exploded with joy, saying it 'felt great.'

Finally, Osawa smiled and announced, 'It seems the next role Kumamoto wants to play is a cabin attendant!' The program concluded with words of anticipation for a cabin attendant role offer for Kumamoto.
