Jimoty Inc. (hereinafter, Jimoty) is pleased to announce the results one month after the opening of 'Jimoty Spot Higashimatsuyama' on March 31, 2026, based on a reuse agreement concluded with Higashimatsuyama City, Saitama Prefecture (hereinafter, Higashimatsuyama City) in March 2026. A total of 10,163 unwanted items were brought in, of which 5,268 have already been reused, resulting in an estimated waste reduction effect of 16,686 kg (*1). ■About Jimoty Spot Jimoty Spot is a service that allows people to exchange 'still usable but unwanted items' within their local community. Those who want to give away unwanted items can simply bring them in without an appointment, connecting them to the next person who needs them. Those who want to receive items can check product information on the local information site 'Jimoty' and see the actual items at the store before purchasing or picking them up. We reuse a wide range of 'still usable items' that are often discarded due to low resale value, including items not bought by thrift stores and furniture that incurs high shipping costs. 【Three benefits for citizens and municipalities】 - You can reduce the effort and cost of disposing of them as bulky waste, with no appointments and zero fees. - You can obtain reused items at an affordable price or for free. We plan to expand Jimoty Spots to 329 stores by 2030. This is expected to reduce waste by approximately 84,000 tons annually (254 tons per store per year) (*3), which is equivalent to about 6% of the total bulky and clothing waste generated in Japan.
