Jimoty Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "the Company"), which operates the local information site "Jimoty," has concluded an agreement with Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo (hereinafter referred to as "Shinagawa Ward"), regarding reuse, and will implement reuse awareness activities aimed at waste reduction.
The Company has previously concluded reuse agreements with 297 local governments nationwide, including 10 in the 23 wards of Tokyo, and has been working to promote the spread of reuse. As a company headquartered in Shinagawa Ward, we will further revitalize reuse activities within the ward through this agreement and contribute to the realization of a sustainable local community.
■ Aim of the Agreement
Shinagawa Ward has set "promotion of reuse" as one of the basic policies of its general waste disposal basic plan and has been carrying out various waste reduction activities. Until fiscal year 2025, the ward has provided reuse opportunities by listing items from bulky waste that are still usable on the Jimoty website.
Moving forward, with the aim of further expanding the amount of reuse, we have re-concluded a cooperation agreement with the Company to make it easier for residents to choose the option of "giving away" unwanted items before discarding them.
■ Activities (as of May 1, 2026*)
Shinagawa Ward's official website, public relations magazine "Koho Shinagawa," and pamphlets such as "How to Dispose of and Separate Resources and Waste" will be used to raise awareness among residents about the option of "giving away instead of discarding," thereby improving reuse awareness and curbing waste generation.
Furthermore, an official Shinagawa Ward account will be created within Jimoty to disseminate information about the ward, including reuse, to a wider range of residents.
The Company will continue to strengthen reuse promotion in cooperation with local governments, aiming to realize a sustainable society. We welcome inquiries from local governments nationwide that are eager to reduce waste and promote reuse.
*The content of awareness activities may change in the future.
