Jimoty, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "our company"), which operates the local information site "Jimoty" (hereinafter referred to as "Jimoty"), has concluded an agreement regarding reuse with Kumano City, Mie Prefecture (hereinafter referred to as "Kumano City"), and will implement reuse awareness campaigns to reduce waste. Currently, our company has concluded agreements regarding reuse with 295 municipalities nationwide and is working towards the realization of a sustainable society through the promotion of reuse and waste reduction.

Goals of the Agreement

Kumano City's General Waste Management Basic Plan advocates for "resource recycling of waste" as a measure to promote waste reduction, with "promotion of reuse" being one of its key initiatives. Kumano City is experiencing an increase in vacant homes, and consequently, more people are clearing out belongings from these homes. As a result, the amount of bulky waste disposal has increased by about 20% compared to ten years ago. Since some of the disposed bulky waste items are still reusable, it was decided to conclude an agreement with our company to further promote reuse in the future.

Activity Details (As of April 1, 2026*)

We will suppress waste discharge by raising awareness among residents through Kumano City's official website and its newsletter "Kouhou Kumano" about the option to "give away instead of throwing away," thereby improving reuse awareness.

Our company will continue to strengthen reuse promotion in collaboration with municipalities, aiming for the realization of a sustainable society. We welcome inquiries from municipalities nationwide that are motivated to reduce waste and promote reuse.

*The content of awareness activities may change in the future.
