Jimoty, Inc. (hereinafter 'Jimoty') has been working in cooperation with Kitami City, Hokkaido (hereinafter 'Kitami City'), with which it concluded an 'Agreement on Corporate Location' in July 2019, to promote the reuse of products previously collected as bulky waste. Now, aiming for further waste reduction within the city, we will open the 'Jimoty Spot Kitami Store' on April 17, 2026. The Jimoty Spot Kitami Store will be the first store to open in the eastern Hokkaido region among the public-private partnership reuse bases operated by our company.
About Jimoty Spot Jimoty Spot is a service that allows people to exchange 'things that can still be used but are no longer needed' within the local community. Those who want to give away unwanted items can simply bring them in without a reservation, passing them on to the next person who needs them. Those who want to receive items can check product information on the local community site 'Jimoty', see the actual items at the store, and purchase or pick them up. We reuse a wide range of 'still usable items' that have low resale value and are often thrown away, from items that are not bought by recycle shops to furniture that incurs high shipping costs.
[Three Benefits for Citizens and Local Governments] <For those who want to give away unwanted items> - No reservation required and zero commission fees; reduces the effort and cost of disposing of items as bulky waste. <For those who want to receive items> - You can obtain reused items at an affordable price, or even for 'free'. (e.g., A rice cooker for 300 yen, a chair for 0 yen, etc.) <For local governments> - Effectively curbs waste emissions and promotes waste reduction and resource circulation within the community.
