Jimoty, Inc. (hereinafter 'our company'), which operates the local information site 'Jimoty', has concluded a reuse agreement with Kumano City, Mie Prefecture (hereinafter 'Kumano City') and will carry out reuse awareness activities aimed at reducing waste. Currently, our company has concluded reuse agreements with 295 local governments nationwide, working toward the realization of a sustainable society through reuse awareness and waste reduction.
Aim of the Agreement
In its General Waste Management Basic Plan, Kumano City promotes 'resource recovery of waste' to advance waste reduction, with 'promotion of reuse' being one of the measures. As the number of vacant houses in Kumano City increases, more people are clearing out household goods from these properties, leading to a roughly 20% increase in bulky waste disposal compared to 10 years ago. Since some of the disposed bulky waste can still be reused, the city decided to partner with our company to further promote reuse in the future.
Activity Details (As of April 1, 2026*)
By raising awareness among residents about the option to 'give away instead of throwing away' through Kumano City's official website and 'Public Relations Kumano', we aim to improve reuse consciousness and curb waste emission.
Our company will continue to strengthen reuse promotion in collaboration with local governments to realize a sustainable society. We look forward to inquiries from municipalities nationwide eager to reduce waste and promote reuse.
