Jimoty, Inc. (hereinafter "the Company"), which operates the local information site "Jimoty," has concluded an agreement on reuse with Nanbu Town, Aomori Prefecture (hereinafter "Nanbu Town") to implement reuse awareness initiatives aimed at reducing waste. The Company has currently signed reuse agreements with 290 local governments nationwide, working toward the realization of a sustainable society through reuse awareness and waste reduction.
Objectives of the Agreement
The Ministry of the Environment has set goals for its "Future Vision for 2040," including "creating a proper reuse market," "expanding the base of reuse," and "making reuse the norm."
In its Basic Plan for General Waste Management, Nanbu Town has identified "promotion of reuse" as one of its measures for waste suppression and recycling, and is engaged in various waste reduction activities.
To foster a culture of reuse among residents and contribute to the reduction of total waste emissions, the town has entered into this agreement with our company, which offers a low barrier to entry for reuse activities, such as free transaction fees and ease of local trading.
Activities (As of March 27, 2026*)
We will promote the option of "giving away instead of throwing away" to residents through Nanbu Town's official website and public relations materials, thereby improving reuse awareness and suppressing waste generation.
Furthermore, we will create an official Nanbu Town account on Jimoty to disseminate information about the town, including reuse initiatives, to more residents.
The Company will continue to strengthen reuse promotion in cooperation with local governments to realize a sustainable society. We welcome inquiries from local governments across the country that are motivated to reduce waste and promote reuse.
*The content of these awareness activities is subject to change.
