The Japan Management Association Management Center (JMAM; President: Shiro Cho; Chuo-ku, Tokyo) will launch a new course, "Knowing the Present of SDGs: Looking Ahead to the World of Beyond SDGs," as part of its online corporate education tool "e-Learning Library®*(1)" starting in April 2026.

This course is designed to help with the consideration of next-generation sustainability strategies starting in 2027 and the creation of a new framework for SDGs beyond 2030. It provides a comprehensive overview of global movements and trends in a single course, available for study in the Management Library and SDGs Pack of the "e-Learning Library®."

## Development Background
As pointed out in the UN's "The Sustainable Development Goals Report 2023: Special Edition" released in July 2023, the world is at a major turning point. With the review of the next-generation SDGs set for 2027, the UN's interim assessment revealed the reality that SDG achievement remains at a low level, with about one-third of the evaluated targets showing "stagnation or regression."

Furthermore, global trends, such as policy changes regarding human rights due diligence in the EU and the toning down of decarbonization, ESG, and DEIB under a potential second Trump administration in the US, are having a significant impact on SDG-related activities.

As more concrete results are now demanded for SDGs, simply appealing to participation in environmental initiatives is no longer considered sufficient for corporate activities. We are transitioning to a stage where society demands concrete contributions to the SDGs, such as incorporating AI into sustainability management and adapting to new disclosure standards.

Updating corporate strategies to capture these changes is expected to become even more important for adapting to broader information disclosure obligations in the future and for securing first-mover advantages in markets related to SDG trends.

It is difficult to gather information from a wide range of fields on how companies should face the SDGs in 2027 and beyond. This course builds on the content of the existing SDGs courses currently offered in JMAM's "e-Learning Library®" and is a course that can update important latest knowledge for future corporate strategies and sustainability management. Under the supervision of Dr. Kantaro Hiramoto, Director of the Beyond SDGs Japan, Kanazawa Institute of Technology, this course provides a comprehensive study of knowledge for Beyond SDGs and trends in sustainability in a single course.
