Japan Lifesaving Association and Shiseido Japan Sign Official Supporter Agreement / Supporting Zero Water Accidents through Sun Protection Support for Lifeguards Nationwide and Sponsorship of Fujisawa LIFE FEST

The Japan Lifesaving Association (JLA, Minato-ku, Tokyo, President/Takuya Iritani) has signed an official supporter agreement with Shiseido Japan Co., Ltd. (Location: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Japan Region CEO: Koji Nakata). We will receive support including sun protection assistance for lifeguards nationwide overseen by JLA, and sponsorship for the Fujisawa LIFE FEST.

## Partnership with Shiseido Japan Co., Ltd.
As a global beauty company originating from Japan, Shiseido Japan Co., Ltd. will develop initiatives under the theme of providing "comfort" to the activities of lifeguards as part of their social contribution business. As a partner working together to promote JLA's mission of achieving "zero water accidents," they have empathized with JLA's activities that focus on the preciousness of the sea and life. Through supporting rescue and life-saving activities, education, accident prevention and safety awareness domestically via sports, and aiding lifesaving sport activities, they will contribute to its development.

## Sponsorship as an Official Supporter
For JLA-certified lifeguards and JLA instructors, they will conduct "UV Seminars" to impart knowledge about sunburn (ultraviolet rays), and provide operational support by supplying products as a sun protection measure for lifeguards during summer monitoring activities. In the past, they held a sunburn seminar exclusively for female lifeguards in the Kansai region. Lifeguards, who frequently engage in outdoor activities, are heavily affected by UV rays, especially during the summer monitoring season. While maintaining a healthy body is paramount for their activities, it is often difficult for them to remain fully conscious of this aspect. The advice received from experts during the sunburn seminars provided valuable insights and was highly praised by participating lifeguards.

Meanwhile, through their sponsorship of the "Fujisawa LIFE FEST," an event held in conjunction with the Japan National Lifesaving Championships, they plan to set up a booth to lecture on the correct usage of sunscreen. We feel that creating an opportunity for UV protection will help the public who gather at the sea enjoy marine and waterfront activities more safely. The vision JLA aims for, "zero water accidents," cannot be achieved by lifeguards alone. By receiving support from many people, including such private enterprises, we can spread safety knowledge and skills related to waterfronts, leading to a society where everyone can enjoy themselves safely, surely brightening the path to our vision. We hope that this circle of cross-sectional support will continue to grow in the future.
