Morishita Jintan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka, Representative Director and President: Yuji Morishita, hereinafter referred to as 'the Company') has been certified as a 'Health and Productivity Management Outstanding Organization 2026 (Large Enterprise Category),' recognizing it as a company that strategically considers employee health management from a management perspective and implements initiatives to maintain and promote health.

The 'Health and Productivity Management Outstanding Organization Certification System,' jointly selected by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Japan Health Council, is a system that commends large corporations, small and medium-sized enterprises, and other organizations that practice particularly excellent health and productivity management, based on regional health issues and health promotion initiatives advanced by the Japan Health Council. This is the Company's eighth consecutive year as a Health and Productivity Management Outstanding Organization and its fifth consecutive year in the Large Enterprise Category.

Since its founding in 1893, the Company, as a pioneer in healthcare, has not only provided products to people worldwide but also engaged in health and welfare activities that focused on employee health from that time, such as establishing a health insurance union in 1926. Moving forward, we will continue to practice health and productivity management by further raising the health awareness of each employee and by supporting health maintenance and promotion through health policies and workplace environment creation.

Through walking rallies and seminars, we are striving to improve company-wide health literacy. Currently, in addition to resolving issues specific to each business site, we are practicing accompanying-style health management that caters to individual lifestyle habits through nutritional counseling and other implementations. In new employee training, we also offer unique programs such as cooking classes and walking tours to learn about company history. Going forward, we aim to focus on analyzing the results of health checkups and comprehensive medical examinations to identify health issues that we should prioritize and implement more appropriate countermeasures.

Furthermore, we will periodically review health and welfare business menus in line with our gender and age composition, and utilize insights gained from employee engagement surveys to create an environment where everyone can work healthily and more actively.

Morishita Jintan's Main Initiatives for FY2025

1. Implementation of Walking Rally

As part of a population approach, the Company implements a 'Walking Rally' annually for all employees. This initiative, which celebrates its 17th year in FY2025, has become deeply ingrained among employees. Since FY2021, with the motto 'From Event to Habit,' the duration has been gradually extended, and from FY2024, it has been held as a six-month event (October to March). Additionally, as a related event to promote participation and revitalize the Walking Rally, a 'Nara Walking Tour to Learn from the Past' was held in October.

Set in the Kasugano Athletic Field (now Nara Park), where an athletic meet was held for employees and their families in 1920, it was a special day to practice healthy habits for mind and body, reflecting on the history that connects through time, where our predecessors once ran.

2. Implementation of Health Fairs

The 'Health Fair,' which started in FY2021, was held last November at three locations: the Shiga Factory, MJ Shiga, and the Tokyo Office. Personal scores were calculated by measuring 'body age' through simple tests like grip strength measurement and standing on one leg with eyes closed. In subsequent seminars, knowledge on anti-aging and bone health was deepened. By visualizing the health challenges of each site through measurement data, we aim to create an environment where each employee can enjoy working on improving their lifestyle habits.

3. Implementation of Counseling

To lower the psychological barrier to consulting with registered dietitians, specific health guidance is operated under the name 'Nutritional Counseling.' The target audience has been expanded beyond traditional recipients to include those under 40 years old who are eligible for specific health guidance or are transitioning to medication, with active outreach. Furthermore, starting from FY2024, with the aim of preventing the onset and severity of lifestyle diseases, we individually send 'Health Checkup Follow-up Information' with easy-to-understand explanations to those with health risks identified from their health checkup results, and provide opportunities for counseling by public health nurses. In addition, we have introduced mental health counseling by specialists and smoking cessation support programs, implementing various initiatives tailored to each individual.

4. Implementation of New Employee Nutrition Education

As part of improving employees' health literacy, nutrition education for new employees has been implemented since FY2021, continuing a program that combines seminars by registered dietitians with nutrition counseling. Furthermore, as a more practical and daily life-oriented program, 'Adult Cooking Classes' were newly introduced from FY2024.
